Algarve region is visited by sun and sea loving tourists from all over the world. But for the best surfing spots head to Sagres and to Aljezur’s beaches, on Algarve’s west coast.
Book a surfboardAlgarve’s south coast it’s a forever sunny holidaymaker’s mecca with turquoise waters and golden sand beaches. And also some some very decent breaks, specially for beginners.
But for more exciting surfing opportunities, you should go west to stunning Sagres, located on Algarve’s southwest tip, where two coastlines come together resulting in exposure to swell from different directions, but also protection from the wind and the bigger swells. On Tonel, Beliche, Zavial or Mareta beaches you’ll find a good wave.
But if you are looking for that bigger swells, then head further north on the west coast to Cordoama and continue to the amazing Aljezur’s beaches: Praia do Amado, Bordeira, Monte Clérigo and Arrifana.
