It’s on the railway line linking Lisbon to Cascais and has the most extensive sandy area of Estoril Coast. However, it can still be packed during summer because it’s a main beach break location due to the short distance and excellent public transportation from Lisbon. You can find entire families but also a lot of surf and body board practitioners. There’s also skate and basketeball courts.
Carcavelos is great for learning how to surf and, Angels Surf School is a great place to do it. If you just need to rent a surfboard or other surf equipment make your reservation here.
